At Pedagoo, our online assessment platform, we have improved and simplified our use for schools for the beginning of the 2020-2021 academic year, by implementing a four-step system that allows teachers to create their own questions, generate the assessment, share a link with your students to access the exam and automatically grade the results.

In this way, a teacher simply has to prepare the exam (as they would also do for a conventional paper test format) and in Pedagoo we generate the evaluation. This can be shared by any type of technological platform used by the educational center: from email to Microsoft Teams, through WhatsApp, Zoom, Google Classroom or Skype.

The exams launched from our platform can be developed both in person in the classroom, with the corresponding technological means, and remotely. Therefore, the uncertainties that educational centers may have if there were any period of suspension of face-to-face classes due to the COVID-19 pandemic, are eliminated.

In the classroom, the main advantage in this situation is that the use of paper in the exams is eliminated, avoiding a route of possible contagion of COVID-19. According to health authorities, the Coronavirus can last up to 3 hours on printing paper such as that used in tests.

In addition, with our evaluation platform, the correction of the exam is automatic, allowing teachers to focus more on the teaching content and for schools to obtain statistics and data on the performance of their students.

New technique for conducting monitored and supervised tests

Along with this, we have completed another important technological improvement with the implementation of a proctoring authentication tool – a technique for conducting monitored and supervised tests – for the launch of online exams with all the security guarantees for students, teachers and educational centers. . Thanks to it, the test is carried out under the conditions required by a regulated examination.

Proctoring allows you to verify the identity of the person who performs the exam, avoiding impersonations; but also to know if the student has opened another tab in his Internet browser or a chat during the test. With this, the conditions of the remote test are much more similar to the vigilance with which the face-to-face exams are carried out, increasing safety for teachers and students. Thus, we became one of the first entities to apply proctoring in Spain.

An additional guarantee for educational centers

With these improvements, if there is a general suspension of face-to-face classes or in a specific center, at Pedagoo we guarantee that not only the teaching activity can be maintained, but also remote examinations can be carried out with the same quality and guarantees as if they were face-to-face.

In addition, in the case of remote teaching, our tool is compatible with the platforms most used by educational centers, without requiring special or additional technology to teach or share notes, but rather focuses on evaluation, which it is precisely the aspect that other systems that are used to teach live classes do not cover.

The first educational centers interested in applying this platform are already receiving, in a comfortable and 100% online way, a practical session with information about its characteristics and how to use it, free and without obligation. Pedagoo has also chosen a simple marketing model, with a flat annual fee per student and no exam limits.
